My Latest Hunt!

Hello fellow archers and bowhunters! Greetings from
Tenino...
Anybody have a good hunting story they would like to share... ? Please do so...
I had a very amazing Elk hunt this past September... On the second day of the hunt my brother Jon and myself were hunting up stream in the bottom of a deep canyon... and believe it or not we actually had the wind in our face this time LOL. We stopped and did a little calling and lo and behold, quite a ways above us on the other side of the drainage we had a bull bugle back at us.
I got set up right on the creek bank at what looked like a decent place to cross the creek and within minutes saw movement directly across from my position.

Without any hesitation the bull forded the creek as Jon let out a few sexy cow calls about fifty yards behind me. The bull walked quickly and directly at me until he was only 2-3 yards away and finally turned broadside to me as he continued to walk around a large stump that was just off my right elbow. I drew my bow as he walked past,... he saw the movement and jerked to a stop to look at this intruder so I let fly and the arrow barely cleared my bow before it disappeared into his chest! He crossed back over to the other side of the creek but didn't make it out of my sight before expiring.

Always kinda sad watching such an awesome creature so majestic like a nice bull elk give his last breath. But that's the way the cycle goes... a life has to be taken in order for mine to continue. I'm a meat eater...
